Fear, anxiety, confusion and reluctance. These are just some of the emotions that a leader may face while going through change. Change management initiatives typically focus more on the logistics or mechanics of getting the change right - the 'hard' part - and neglect how the new world will affect the people that will be operating in the new environment - the 'soft' part. In reality, the hard and soft parts need to be combined to make change effective.
